A few things I've learned about Berlin:
1. Public transportation here is the best. You can get anywhere you want, whenever.
2. Public transportation is also super sketchy at night. I saw my first real drug deal go down! Also drunk people in the stations=amusing.
3. Germans have a thing with feet. Inside shoes v. outside shoes. And don't put your feet up anywhere.
4. People don't shower everyday or wash their clothes very often. So I am going to come back really low maintenance...for better or for worse.
5. Really good Turkish food. Also really good curry wurst. Actually, just really good food in general.
So I like my classes so far. People in my class are from all over the world! It is interesting to hear German with Spanish, Swedish, French, Afrikaans, Japanese, and Portuguese accents.
My recent "adventures" include:
Exploring an old German cemetery
Going to the Neues Museum and visiting the bust of Nefertiti (which Egypt has been trying to get back for the last hundred years)
Stumbling upon a huge old church. It was almost completely empty and we had a lot of fun exploring.
Visiting the Berlin Zoo. One word: Elephants. They make me so happy.
And going to church. We had a bit of an adventure getting there because the buses were canceled for some event. However, I awarded myself 10 life points for finding a detour.
Speaking of church, here is a picture of me drinking Beer. It might be non-alcoholic. Probably not.
ha ha This is classic Becca material. It sounds like fun!
